A message to our referring vet practices from Professor Nick Bexfield, Managing Director of the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital, Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge.
Dear Colleagues
You may be aware that the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital and the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge have recently undergone a period of uncertainty. We are pleased to confirm that the University’s General Board has formally agreed that veterinary education at Cambridge will continue, securing the long-term future of the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital.
We want to reassure you that the QVSH remains fully operational and committed to supporting our referring practices. Your partnership is highly valued, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us with your clients and patients.
As a not-for-profit teaching hospital, all income is reinvested directly into patient care, clinical research and the training of future veterinary professionals. We continue to operate as a multidisciplinary referral centre, providing specialist-led care under one roof, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our Client Services team has also been strengthened to ensure efficient communication and a seamless referral experience for both practices and clients.
Referrals can be arranged by contacting our Client Services team on 01223 337621 or by emailing us at hospital@vet.cam.ac.uk or via our website at www.hospital.vet.cam.ac.uk.
Thank you to those who continue to work closely with us. If you have not referred to the QVSH recently, we would be very pleased to reconnect and discuss how we can best support you and your clients.
We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you.
With best wishes, Nick and the QVSH Team
