The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

We’re delighted to continue the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH) Team Spotlight, where we shine a light on the incredible teams across our hospital who work tirelessly to deliver outstanding specialist care. This time, it’s the turn of our Cardiology Team. Meet Rachel, Catheryn, Jose, Andrew, Phoebe and Becky - our dedicated clinicians who look after our clients’ pets with heart conditions, providing expert diagnostics, advanced treatments and compassionate support for every pet that walks through our doors.

Our Cardiology Team plays a vital role in improving both the quality and length of life for pets with cardiac disease. Their work includes a wide range of procedures, from cutting-edge interventions to long-term medical management plans tailored to each patient.

Andrew Fisher, our Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Small Animal Cardiology, shared what makes working in this team so special:

“Working as part of the Cardiology Team at a specialist referral hospital like the QVSH means I can be a part of interventional procedures like pacemaker implantations and patent ductus arteriosus occlusions. These procedures not only manage heart disease but treat it, and can result in near-normal life expectancies for what would otherwise be severely life-limiting diseases!”

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring the Cardiology Team across our channels -  from a team introduction to case studies and behind-the-scenes stories that highlight the life-changing work they do every day.

Our Cardiology Team are always on hand to discuss a tricky case with our partner vets, offering expert guidance, advice and support to help you make the best decisions for your patients. Our partner veterinary professionals are also invited to join our hugely successful Cardiology Cub - where veterinary professionals meet to advance their expertise in small animal cardiology. The perfect opportunity to engage in case discussions, share best practices, and receive expert feedback in a supportive community. See our dedicated page for more details and how to join.
