John Gardner



Registrar in Small Animal Orthopaedics

Professional history Following qualification from Cambridge Veterinary School in 1998, John completed a small animal internship at the Royal Veterinary College before entering private practice. John attained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2007 and since then has been employed as the orthopaedic surgeon for a large veterinary group serving north east London, working at their busy first opinion, emergency and referral hospital in Wanstead. Every Wednesday John works with the QVSH Small Animal Orthopaedic Service, working towards the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Orthopaedics.

Clinical and research interests: John is interested in all aspects of small animal orthopaedics and particularly enjoys the management of fractures and joint instability. John is currently researching the validity of the sit test as a predictor of stifle pathology in the investigation of lameness in dogs.
