The Diagnostic Imaging Department

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at the QVSH works closely with all other departments of the Vet School, to provide a comprehensive imaging service.Clinicians have access to traditional imaging modalities alongside modern advanced imaging techniques, to assist in diagnosing disease and assessing the effectiveness of patient treatments.

We are happy to discuss any imaging-related questions you may have. We also have a diagnostic imaging interpretation service for external veterinarians (we accept DICOM images for interpretation for a fee of £45 +VAT).

Services we offer:

• Digital Radiography and Ultrasound including echocardiography
• On site small animal MRI (both high field and low field)
• On site 16 slice CT scanner in conjunction with Cambridge Radiology Referrals
• Digital Fluoroscopy and Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) for interventional procedures, including minimally invasive coil embolisation of intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, and cardiac catheterisation.

We are led by three European Specialists in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. Our team includes five veterinary radiographers, three senior clinical training scholars and one junior clinical training scholar.
