Congratulations to the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital’s Cardiology Service who have won two prizes at the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) congress in Barcelona. Rachel Carter, who was a previous rotating intern at the QVSH won 3rd prize for best Oral Cardiology Abstract with a study using the hospital’s Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Clinic titled: ‘Combined signalment, physical examination and NT-proBNP in predicting cardiac disease in asymptomatic cats with murmurs’ Also the Cardiology Service was part of a multicentre study entitled ‘Incidence of restenosis and associated risk factors in dogs undergoing balloon valvuloplasty for pulmonic stenosis’ which won the 2nd prize for Best Oral Cardiology Abstract.
