The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

 

The Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH), is proud to announce the official launch of its Neuromuscular Disease Clinic - a pioneering service dedicated to diagnosing and treating animals suffering from weakness, tremors, fatigue, and other neuromuscular conditions.

To mark the launch, the QVSH will host a special Continuing Professional Development (CPD) evening for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses on Thursday 9 October 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Cambridge.

The event will feature two in-depth talks from the hospital’s expert neurology team:

Muscle Fatigue & Collapse – From hypokalaemia to myasthenia gravis: causes of weakness & exercise intolerance (Talk delivered by, An Vanhaesebrouck – European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology)

Tremors, Shakes, Cramps & Twitches – Understanding involuntary movements & their underlying conditions (Talk delivered by, Sam Khan – Senior Clinical Training Scholar)

Each attendee will receive CPD points and a certificate of attendance. The £50 registration fee supports Camvet, the hospital charity funding ground-breaking research to improve veterinary treatment.  A 50% discount of the fee is available for students.
