The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

 

The Cambridge Equine Hospital aims to provide a comprehensive, mobile first opinion general practitioner service within an approximately thirty-mile radius of the University of Cambridge Veterinary School. Most cases can initially be seen at the owners’ premises. Any cases requiring further diagnostic evaluation or in-depth treatment can be brought into the Hospital and if necessary referred to a specialist clinician. Services available on the owner’s premises include

  • 24-hour emergency call out
  • Monday-Friday consultations by appointment
  • Routine healthcare, including vaccination, annual health checks, worming, passports and micro-chipping
  • Geriatric medicine
  • Dental care, from prophylactic annual checks to motorised rasping
  • Pre-purchase examination
  • Castration
  • Official height measurement for JMB
  • Lameness evaluation
  • Reproductive care, pre-breeding examination, artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and foal health checks
  • Group/yard visits accommodated
  • Attendance at events, shows or pony club can be arranged
  • Three for free’ – free visit when consultations provided for 3 or more horses on the same yard
