Clinical Neurologist

Susana graduated from the University of Porto – Portugal in 2010. After less than a year working at a university teaching hospital in Portugal, she began a Junior Clinical Training Scholarship in Small Animals studies at the QVSH. Susana then spent 5 years in small animal general practice in the UK, before returning in July 2018 to the QVSH as Junior veterinarian in neurology, followed by a residency in neurology and neurosurgery. Susana completed this programme in March 2022 and stayed on as a Clinical Neurologist. She has also started, in April 2023, postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge on the association between the reduction of brain oxygenation and development of neurodegenerative diseases in brachycephalic dogs.

- Disease pathophysiology

- Brain hypoxia

- Neurodegenerative diseases

- Genetics in Neurology

- EEG and new diagnostics tests in veterinary neurology

- Vestibular disease and deafness
