The Awards Panel for the RCVS Knowledge Awards for Quality Improvement Champions selected the Queens Veterinary School Hospital as a Highly Commended Runner Up for the Knowledge Champion Award.
The application, detailing our QICG initiatives, went through a blinded peer-review process. The RCVS Knowledge Awards Panel provided the following feedback:
"A well-set out project with clear goals. It is great to see such a commitment to QI in a teaching hospital environment both from a philosophical point of view but also a financial commitment through the generation of a new post. It is evident through the application that this has been a team effort of importance and became a continuous process as the benefits have been recognised. A fantastic initiative that should set an example for others to follow."
Congratulations and thank you all for participating in the QICG group and promoting the activities and ethos of quality improvement. It has been recognised that your attendance and contributions are accommodated around and on top of the regular responsibilities of your roles, but creating this regular forum for open case and event discussions has been very valuable in trying to improve the hospital for staff, patients and clients. This wouldn't be possible without your participation.
