Meet Pedro, an 8-year-old Boston Terrier who recently underwent specialist surgery at The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH). He suffered a fractured jaw, a particularly tricky injury in his breed due to their unique skull shape.
With few treatment options available our Specialist Orthopaedic Team carefully planned the repair to restore function while ensuring his bite remained normal.
One key part of the procedure was using a special incubation technique that allowed his mouth to be fully closed during surgery - an essential step for a successful outcome.
We’re delighted to report that Pedro is doing brilliantly post-surgery! His owner shared: "He is doing so well, and his recovery has been amazing!"
A huge well done to our Specialist Orthopaedic Team here at the QVSH for their skill and dedication!
