Personal profile

Ian graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1997 and has completed further post graduate qualifications with a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s certificate in Cattle Health and Production and a Masters degree in Epidemiology.After graduation I spent nine years in predominantly farm animal practice with jobs in Norfolk and the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, including a residency in Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery at the RVC. I joined the Department of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 initially as a Clinical Farm Animal Veterinarian, then as a Clinician Teaching Fellow in Veterinary Public Health and Farm Animal Medicine, and since October 2013 as University Physician, with responsibility of being the Farm Animal Clinical Team Leader. Ian has recently become a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners specialising in Dairy Practice.
