My pet is very nervous. Will he/she be ok in the hospital

  • Our patient care is individualised and handled with upmost care. Sometimes we can prescribe medication to ease the experience for nervous patients. This can be discussed prior to an appointment or at the appointment prior to admission.

Who looks after my pet overnight?

•We have suitably qualified staff taking care of all of the inpatients 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, with a vet on site at all times. Patients are walked and cared for during the night just as much as they are during the day.

Can I come and visit my animal in the hospital?

  • We can arrange visits for animals with prolonged stays in the hospital. Some patients respond well to having their owners visit, but other can become distressed when they leave. Whether to visit or not can be discussed with the veterinary surgeon and nurses

How will I know what is happening when my pet is in the hospital?

  • When your pet is admitted to the hospital, we will make every effort to inform you of the plan for the period of hospitalisation and keep you updated with progress and plans as much as possible.
  • We strive to be as honest and reliable as possible with keeping you up to date.
  • A member of the team will aim to contact you with an update at least once a day. There are occasions where emergencies prevent us from calling immediately to update you. If you haven’t heard from us and are worried, please do not hesitate to call us to get an update.

What happens if my animal needs additional referral level care?

  • If we believe your pet would benefit from specialist investigations or treatment, we can seamlessly contact the relevant department to hand over the care for that condition, without having to move the patient from the hospital, or kennel! Our specialist services include orthopaedics, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, diagnostic imaging and dermatology.
