The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

As we celebrate 3 years as an accredited Cat Friendly Clinic, the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH) has been re-awarded Gold status by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) for a further 3 years!

As a Cat Friendly Clinic, our teams provide the highest standards of cat friendly care, through our understanding of the specific needs of cats.  Our clients can be reassured that when they entrust us with caring for their cat, our staff know how best to approach and handle them, and how to use our equipment in a way, and in an environment, which makes the experience more cat friendly.

Making the hospital as cat friendly as possible has been a focus of Katie McCallum, Associate Teaching Professor in Small Animal Medicine.  Of the QVSH's gold status re-accreditation, Katie said “We are delighted to have been recognised for the high class services we provide for our feline patients. As a cat owner myself, it can be stressful bringing an unwell pet to the vets so I feel it is important that owners know that our facilities have been assessed as representing the gold standard to meet their pet’s needs during their time with us.”  With a special interest in feline medicine, Katie is a member of the ISFM's Expert Panel and a tutor on the University of Sydney ISFM Feline medicine distance education course.
