The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

Regardless of your funding status you will be asked to pay the relevant initial consultation fee on arrival to your appointment. You may be required to attend several re-check appointments over the course of your pet's treatment. Please be advised that a subsequent consultation fee will be charged for each further appointment you attend and is not included in the estimate given during your first consultation.

There are two options to choose on how to fund your appointments.

Self-Funding

If you are self-funding your visit or submitting your own insurance claim later, you will be asked to present at the front desk to pay the estimate given to you during the consultation; in the event of an estimated range being provided, the middle value will be requested. Payment preference is by debit/credit card. We are unfortunately unable to accept American Express.

Please note: Estimates DO NOT include the consultation fee which you will be asked to pay on arrival.

Due to the nature of a working hospital all charges may not have been allocated to your account at the time of discharge, especially if this occurs outside of normal operating hours, in which case a follow-up invoice will be sent to you.

Insured

If you are insured and would like the administration team to process the insurance claim for you, we can do this on your behalf. We would require you to provide us with further information by filling in the link below:

Insurance Information Form | The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

You will also be asked to pay the Insurance Administration Fee of £30

The administration team will claim for the full cost of your appointment (including the consultation fee and admin fee you paid on arrival) payment of the fees paid upfront will be refunded when the insurance company settles the claim in full, or used as payment towards costs incurred which may not be reclaimable from the insurance provider, such as a policy excess or uninsured boarding costs. Please note: If your pet has several visits the fees will be refunded at the end of all the treatment.
