The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital

If your pet is here for a day procedure and won’t be staying overnight, you may want to stay nearby, depending on how far you've travelled. Some procedures and recovery times can take a while, we’ve put together a list of local amenities that might be of interest to you.

West Hub

The West Hub is situated on the same site as the hospital. The Hub houses a canteen, restaurant, coffee shop, post office and newsagents, plus quiet working spaces if needed. You'll see the West Hub right in front of you as you exit our reception rotunda and has outside areas to sit with pets also. Directly behind the West Hub building is another eatery called West Cafe - which is also a firm favourite with people based at the West Cambridge site and sometimes slightly less busy than the West Hub during the lunch-time rush - well worth checking out!

Cambridge City Centre

You’ll find a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops in Cambridge City Centre just a short 15-minute drive from the hospital. The area also boasts beautiful green spaces like Parker’s Piece and Jesus Green, ideal for a relaxing stroll. For those with an interest in culture, Cambridge is home to historic sites such as the University of Cambridge and its famous colleges, as well as museums like the Fitzwilliam Museum and Kettles Yard. Public transport options are easily accessible from the hospital (The U Bus), making it convenient to explore the city.

Eddington

The Eddington development is just a short walk from the hospital. Eddington features a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops. The area is home to green spaces such as the Eddington Park, ideal for a short walk.
