Biography
Matthew graduated from Harper Adams University in 2017 as part of the first cohort undergoing undergraduate training for veterinary physiotherapy. After graduation he worked as the in house veterinary physiotherapist at the Animal Health Trust’s (AHT) small animal referral centre, assisting multiple services throughout the hospital including neurology, orthopaedics, and hydrotherapy. Following the closure of the AHT, he co-founded an independent veterinary rehabilitation centre in Suffolk and has been at the QVSH since 2023 developing the physiotherapy service.
Matthew is Chair of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) and sits on the regulatory committee for the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance (VOA). Matthew is a previous board member and remains registered with the Animal Health Professions’ Register (AHPR). He is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) and member of the International Association of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy (IAVRPT). Matthew regularly provides online and practical CPD to other veterinary professionals and helps with the practical teaching of vet physio students. His clinical interests include neurological rehabilitation, OA management, respiratory physiotherapy techniques, and the use of orthotics.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing the guitar, rugby, and generally keeping fit.
